Terms of Service — Joe's Garden Maintenance
These terms apply to the use of this website.
These terms explain how this website can be used and what you can expect from us. By using this website you agree to these terms.
Who we are
Joe's Garden Maintenance is run by Joe, based in Scholes, West Yorkshire. I provide garden maintenance services to homes in the local area. This page sets out the terms that apply when you use this website or commission my services.
Using this website
You are welcome to browse this website and use it for its intended purpose — to find out about my services and get in touch. You agree to use the site only in a way that is lawful and does not damage the site or interfere with other people’s use of it.
I aim to keep the information on this site accurate and up to date. However, the site and the information on it are provided as they are. I do not accept liability for any errors or omissions, or for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site, except where the law says I must.
Commissioning services
If you ask for a quote, I will give you a clear indication of the likely cost for the work you describe. A quote is an estimate based on the information you give me at that point. If the job turns out to be significantly different from what you described — for example, more work is needed once I get started — I will tell you before doing anything extra and agree any change in price with you first.
Once we agree the work, I will carry it out with reasonable care and skill. I will turn up at the agreed time, do the work, and leave the garden tidy. If anything changes — for example, the weather or something I find in the garden — I will let you know.
Payment is usually cash on the day the work is done. If we agree another arrangement in advance, I will make that clear to you before the work starts. I do not require payment in advance unless we have agreed that separately.
Cancellations and changes
If you need to cancel or change a booked visit, please give me as much notice as you can. Where a visit has already been arranged and you cancel at the last minute, I may still need to charge for the time I had set aside, particularly if I have turned down other work to fit it in. I will always try to be fair and give you a clear answer if this comes up.
If I need to cancel or move a visit, I will let you know as soon as I can and do my best to find another time that suits you. I do not charge for visits I cancel on my side.
Liability
I take care with the work I do and with your property. If I damage something through negligence — that is, through a clear failure to take reasonable care — I will put it right or compensate you, as appropriate. I am not responsible for things outside my control, such as weather damage to plants or lawn after the work is completed, or for pre-existing problems I was not told about.
The terms above are intended to be fair and reasonable. If any part of these terms is found not to be enforceable, the rest of the terms will still apply.
Your responsibilities
To help me do a good job, please make sure I can access the areas that need work and that I know about anything I should be aware of — for example, fragile items in the garden, areas to avoid, or pets that may need supervising or keeping in.
If there is anything that might affect the work or the price, please tell me in advance so I can plan properly and give you an accurate quote.
Contacting me about these terms
